Hi, I'm Dr. Barnett, and today I'm going to show you how Doximity Ask can be very beneficial for looking up medications.
I'll use capecitabine as an example. When I type "capecitabine" into Doximity Ask, several options automatically populate. These are what we call Quick Answers.
When I click on one of them, I immediately get an answer showing the side effects of capecitabine. In the bottom right, you'll also see the drug monograph, which includes helpful information such as dosing, administration, adverse reactions, and more.
You can also use the section navigation to quickly jump to different parts of the monograph.
Another way to access this information is through Tools and Drug Lookup. Simply enter the name of the medication, select it, and the drug monograph will appear.
In the top right corner, you'll find section links that let you jump directly to the information you need. For example, if I'm using capecitabine to treat breast cancer, I can quickly navigate to the dosing section.
As you continue scrolling, you can review adverse reactions ranging from common to less common, boxed warnings, guidance for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and dosing considerations for patients with organ impairment.
This provides a quick, easy, safe, and reliable way to look up medications within Doximity Ask.
