File uploads unlock some of the most powerful workflows in Doximity Ask. But they only work when you give Doximity Ask a clear job to do. Uploading a file and typing one word like "see" or "which" or "is this okay?" gets a generic response.

The reason is simple: Doximity Ask has no background knowledge about you, your patient, or why you uploaded the file. It only knows what you tell it in the current conversation. Without a clear instruction, it can only guess at what you need.

The Fix: A Three-Part Prompt

Every upload prompt needs three components. You do not need to be exhaustive. A sentence or two for each is enough. The goal is to give Doximity Ask the same information you would give a colleague before handing them a document.

1. What the file IS

2. What you want Doximity Ask to DO

3. Any relevant clinical context
